Learning Resources Center

The Learning Resources Center is an instructional support system and information network. The LRC is named for Carolyn Munro Wilson, a life-long educator and supporter of teaching and learning. It is centrally located on our main campus on the second floor of Gwaltney Hall.  Services are provided to MCC students, faculty, and staff. Resources include both print and non-print materials, electronic resources, audio-visual equipment, and workshops and orientations.

Additional information, details, and links are available in our Mayland Learning Resources Center Guide.

The LRC is on the second floor of the Gwaltney Hall on Mayland Community College’s main campus.

Access to online materials is available in the LRC on the main campus and at workstations in the Avery and Yancey learning centers.

Current MCC students, faculty, and staff have direct access to online resources both on and off campus through the Online Learning Resources Center link in the footer of every page of their Moodle courses.

For help or to receive an LRC orientation, ask a librarian.

To ask a question or leave a message, use the Contact Form.

To request a card, use the Library Card Form.

To request materials from another library, use our Interlibrary Loan Request Form.

Note: Interlibrary loans are borrowed by the LRC and then loaned to MCC patrons. Loans are picked up at the LRC. If you would like to pick your interlibrary loan either at the Avery Learning Center or at the Yancey Learning Center let us know by email at lrc@mayland.edu.

Students taking Distance Learning courses may request that materials be mailed to them. Mailing takes additional time so please plan accordingly and make your request early enough to allow for shipping times.

If you would like to request that LRC purchase specific materials for the LRC collection, use the LRC Materials Request Form.
