Direct Stafford Loans

  • Mayland Community College does not participate in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program (also known as Stafford Loans or subsidized and unsubsidized student loans).
  • Students interested in additional funding for college may be eligible for alternative loans through private lenders.  For more information about private educational loans and responsible borrowing, visit cfnc.org.  Additionally, the Student Lending Analytics site offers students the opportunity to compare lenders and choose the one which best fits their needs.
  • Students applying for alternative loans through private lenders may be required by the lender to submit the Private Education Loan Applicant Self-Certification Form.  The financial information required to complete this form can be obtained from the Financial Aid Office.
  • Mayland Community College does not recommend or endorse any particular lending source.  We do not have a preferred lender list for alternative student loans.  Locating and choosing a private lender is the sole responsibility of the student. For more information, read the Code of Conduct.

Students should also be aware that Mayland Community College now offers a payment plan for those students required to pay tuition out of pocket.  The Tuition Payment Plan offers a convenient monthly payment option with no interest or finance charges, and no credit check.
