The Life Works project is a service learning initiative of Mayland Community College involving students from the Life Skills and Work Skills Academy programs. Through this project, students build academic, employability, and life skills through a series of entrepreneurial activities. Students learn and practice these skills through the creation, distribution, and sale of a number of different hands-on projects. Some items are donated to local organizations, while others are sold as a fundraiser to support further educational opportunities for the students.
Among the items currently being produced are survival (paracord) bracelets, dog toys, necklaces, and keyrings.
