GED® Preparation / High School Equivalency

The Mayland Community College Adult Education Program offers free classes to assist students in preparing for high school equivalency testing, including the GED® and the HiSET®.

FREE preparation classes are offered during day and evening hours at locations across Mitchell, Avery, and Yancey Counties, providing instruction in reading, writing, and math skills to help students prepare for the tests. These classes are available to adults age 18 and above or for students as young as 16 with notarized documentation from parents and public/private/home school officials.
