Career Coach is a free internet tool designed to help you choose a career path and plan your educational goals. It provides the most current local employment data on a wide variety of occupations and automatically links occupations to Mayland’s educational programs!
Occupational data provided by Career Coach includes:
*Note that wage data is based mainly on internet job postings for our local area which may make some occupations’ wages appear inflated. Be sure to check with Mayland’s career counselor or NCWorks staff to clarify what type of wages you can expect locally. Also note that the initial wage data shown for occupations is the median amount you could expect to earn. To see the full pay range for entry-level workers to highly experienced workers, just click on the occupation.
To get started, just click the link above and take the career assessment at the top of the Career Coach web page. It will provide you with a personalized list of occupations to explore further using Career Coach’s occupational data. A resume builder is also available for students who are ready to start looking for work.
MCC has knowledgeable career counselors available to help you in person as well. They understand the College’s programs and can guide you through the career decision-making process. They will take time to listen and help you think through your options. Just call or email to schedule an appointment!
