The Yancey County Dream Home Tour has been Mayland’s largest fundraiser in Yancey County since 2009. Participants spend a day in early October touring beautiful and unique homes throughout Yancey County. The tour is self-guided and participants follow a map using an informational guide. There are art raffle items at each home and lunch is often catered or tickets are sold to eat at the restaurant at Mountain Air Country Club. Proceeds from the tour, raffle, and lunch support scholarships for Mayland students.
