ScieNCe Festival Star Party

April is the North Carolina Science festival month and one weekend is dedicated as a state-wide star party. The Earth to Sky Park and the Bare Dark Sky Observatory host a free night of star gazing and astronomy activities for all ages. Attendees enjoy educational games and activities to learn about the night sky and then the Observatory opens after dark to allow people to gaze through the Sam Scope and the smaller planetary telescope. The Mayland Astronomy Club sets up telescopes around the Observatory for additional star gazing opportunities.
