Veterans Administration Education Benefits

All degree, diploma and certificate programs at Mayland Community College are approved by the North Carolina State Approving Agency under Public Law 634 for educating and training veterans, dependents of deceased or disabled veterans, and members of the Selected Service.  Continuing Education courses are not approved for VA Education Benefits.

Eligibility for Veterans Education benefits is determined by the Veterans Administration, not Mayland Community College.  Applications for VA Education Benefits should be submitted online through the GI Bill® website.  You may contact the VA Administration at 1-888-442-4551 to confirm your eligibility.

Once you have applied online for VA Education Benefits, please meet with the VA School Certifying Official to discuss your academic plans and sign a memorandum of understanding.  The VA School Certifying Official’s office is located in the Financial Aid Department room 143 on the main floor of Gwaltney Hall.
