If you were in the U.S. military, are currently serving, or if you are a spouse or dependent of someone who was or is in the military, you may be eligible for veterans' education benefits. Mayland Community College is a military-friendly school and we are here to help you reach your educational goals! Take advantage of all that Mayland has to offer military-affiliated students.
Maylands VA School Certifying Official (SCO) helps active duty and former military personnel transition into the college community. We also help military spouses and dependents, as well as students in the National Guard or Reserves.
We are excited to be a part of your educational experience!

All degree, diploma and certificate programs at Mayland Community College are approved by the North Carolina State Approving Agency under Public Law 634 for educating and training veterans, dependents of deceased or disabled veterans, and members of the Selected Service. Continuing Education courses are not approved for VA Education Benefits.
Eligibility for Veterans Education benefits is determined by the Veterans Administration, not Mayland Community College. Applications for VA Education Benefits should be submitted online through the GI Bill® website. You may contact the VA Administration at 1-888-442-4551 to confirm your eligibility.
Once you have applied online for VA Education Benefits, please meet with Maylands VA School Certifying Official to discuss your academic plans and sign a memorandum of understanding. Their office is located in the Financial Aid Department room 143 on the main floor of Gwaltney Hall.
