MCC Foundation Scholarships

MCC Foundation Scholarship Program

The MCC Foundation offers over 60 scholarship opportunities annually, resulting in over $60,000 in aid. Our program seeks students who exhibit strong academic promise and have unmet financial need. New and returning students are encouraged to apply.

​This year, the Fall/Spring online application period will be open from March 1–April 13, 2018.  All applicants are strongly encouraged to read the instructions carefully before starting the application.

Applications must be submitted online no later than 11:59 pm on April 13, 2018 for the 2018-19 scholarship period. Applicants are also required to submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and a copy of their most recent transcript on or before April 13, 2018. Incomplete applications will result in automatic rejection. Only complete applications will be reviewed.

The MCC Foundation awards scholarships without regard to race, creed, religion, color, ancestry, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin or physical disability.

 Eligibility Requirements:

  • Students must be enrolled at Mayland for a minimum of six (6) credit hours for each semester awarded.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or national, be a U.S. permanent resident or other non-eligible citizen, or be a citizen of the Freely Associated States.
  • Must complete the 2018-2019 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on or before April 13, 2018.

Gene Haas Foundation Scholarship:
Available to Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey county residents enrolled in Applied Engineering or a related certification course. Students may receive varying amounts of scholarship funds to help them complete their studies. The funds must be used to cover the cost of tuition, fees, or books. The application is available online at
