Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF)

On March 27, 2020 the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES Act), Pub. L. No. 116-136, was signed into law. This act established and funded the first stream of Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) funding appropriated to colleges and universities to assist with the Coronavirus pandemic. Federal Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund

HEERF I Funding

Mayland Community College (College) acknowledges the College signed and returned to the Department of Education (Department) the College’s Certification and Agreement for;

  • Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the CAREs Act, found under Section 18004(a)(1)
  • Institutional Portion of the CAREs Act, found under Section 18004(a)(1)
  • and the Strengthening Institutions Program portion of the CAREs Act, found under Section 18004(a)(2).

Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSAA) Act of 2021

HEERF II Funding

The Coronairus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSAA) Act, Pub. Law 116-260 was signed into law on December 27, 2020. Mayland Community College received a total of $1,146,354 under the following categories:

  • Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the CRRSAA Act
  • and Institutional Portion of the CRRSAA Act.

HEERF III Funding

The American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act, Pub. Law 117-2 was signed into law on March 11, 2021. Mayland Community College received a total of $1,908,278 under the following categories:

  • Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the CRRSAA Act
  • and Institutional Portion of the CRRSAA Act.
