Student Emergency Financial Aid Grants Information

Section 18004(a)(1) Student Portion Public Reporting

March 31, 2022

  • Mayland Community College (College) acknowledges the College signed and returned to the Department of Education (Department) the College’s Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the CAREs Act, CRRSAA and ARP. This includes assurance that the College has used, or intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students if needed.
  • The College was funded $1,561,654 from the Department pursuant to the College’s Certification of Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.
  • As of the date of this report, the College has distributed $946,929 of these funds to our students.
  • The estimated total number of the College’s students eligible to participate in the programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CAREs Act is 853.
  • As of the date of this report, the total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CAREs Act is 853.
  • The methods used by the College to determine which students receives Emergency Financial Aid Grants, including how much a student would receive and how those funds will be disbursed, under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CAREs Act have been determined. Please see Exhibit 1.
  • Students who may be eligible to receive an Emergency Financial Aid Grant will receive an email notification through their College’s email account. See Exhibit 2.
  • Students who are may eligible to receive an Emergency Financial Aid Grant must complete an online application to request funding. See Exhibit 3.

Mayland Community College acknowledges the College signed and returned to the Department of Education (Department) the College’s Certification and Agreement for the Institutional Portion of the CAREs Act found under Section 18004(a)(1), as well as the Strengthening Institutions Program portion of the CAREs Act found under Section 18004(a)(2).

Mayland was not eligible for any CAREs Act funds under Section 18004(a)(3).
