Scholarships Available:

The scholarships on this page are for “short-term” Workforce Development classes only. David & Yvonne Evans Scholarship: 

Available to Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey County residents. Continuing Education students may receive up to a $180 reimbursement on the cost of registration, plus assistance with other costs when appropriate. The application is available online.  

 

Golden LEAF Foundation: 

Available to Continuing Education occupational education students. Continuing education students may receive up to a $250 reimbursement. Golden LEAF Scholarships can be used to assist with tuition, fees, books, supplies, credentialing exams, transportation, and childcare.

 

Rotary Club of Burnsville Scholarship:

Rotary Club of Burnsville was started in 2002. Rotary is an international club with the motto of “Service Above Self”. Scholarship is available to Yancey County residents enrolled in a workforce credentialing program. Funds may be used for tuition, fees, and books only. Preference will be given to students wishing to remain in the county after graduation. Application is available online at Burnsville Rotary Workforce Scholarship.

 

State Employee’s Credit Union

Available to North Carolina Residents. Continuing Education Students may receive assistance with the costs of certification classes. The scholarship includes tuition, books, testing, materials, or other associated costs.

 

Gene Haas Foundation:

Available to Continuing Education students enrolling in Advanced Manufacturing related courses. Students may receive assistance with registration fees, books, supplies, or other associated costs as appropriate. Application is available online.
