Life Skills

Pre-College Programs offer free classes for adults with intellectual disabilities or similar barriers to independence. These classes are open to adults who have the skills to be successful in an adapted classroom setting. The main goal of the program is to assist students with improving their academic, workplace, and independent living skills preparing them for greater community involvement, further studies, and/or employment. The Life Skills program is excellent preparation for entry into our Work Skills Academy.

Life Skills and Work Skills Academy students are also involved in an ongoing service-learning project called LifeWorks, where they are able to put into practice some of the academic and employability skills they are learning.
