English as a Second Language (ESL)

Pre-College Programs offers free English as a Second Language (ESL) classes in Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey counties. Students can improve their English speaking, reading, and writing skills, as well as interpersonal and everyday life skills. We can also help students study for the citizenship test upon request. Classes are available to adults age 18 and above or for students as young as 16 with notarized documentation from parents and public/private/home school officials.
