Class 2: Improving Soil Health (2.5 Hours)
In this session you learn to interpret soil test results. We will look at ways to address excesses or deficiencies. Topics will include plant diversity, cover crops, no till, low till, mulch, plastic or other covers, crop
rotations, manures, composting, and more.

Class 3: Soil Helpers (2.5 Hours)
So, what else can help the soil? Begin looking at other helpers such as worms, compost, and dive deeper into cover crops systems, timing, and applications. We will also look at how to prepare soil for seeding.

Class 4: Soil Amendments (2 .5 Hours)
What are added amendments and how can we use them? We will discuss how to compensate for the lack of or too much of a nutrient. The focus will be on building healthy soils to minimize using outside
inputs.

Class 6: Other Players in the Soil Building System (2.5 Hours)
As the soil gets healthier, we find more fungi, bacteria, and nematodes. Discover how plants interact with soil organisms to get what they need and when they need it. Plant diversity adds other dimensions.

Class 7: Implementation of Research (6 Hours)
Implement the decisions made in the previous sessions. Topics and projects will include preparing bed, adding amendments, recording the projects, and making hypotheses. Bring a bagged lunch and water.
