EKG Technician (105 Hours)

Earn the skills and credentials to administer EKGs, as well as Holter monitoring or stress testing with a certification through the National Healthcareer Association.

Training Includes:
• CPR certification
• Anatomy and physiology of the heart
• Principles of EKG
• Dysrhythmia recognition
• Junctional/atrial rhythms
• Set up and administration of EKGs (electrocardiograms) and stress tests
• Preparation of patients for Holter and ambulatory monitoring
• Delivery of final test results for physician’s analysis
• Schedule appointments
• Transcribe physicians’ interpretations

Admission Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Provide proof of high school completion (high school transcripts, copy of high school diploma, or copy of completion of GED requirements)
• Demonstrate reading proficiency either by college transcripts, computerized placement test, or a TABE reading test

Cost of Class:
• Tuition/Registration $180 
• Text approximately $65
• CPR card $10
• Optional accident insurance $1.20

Other Fees:
• NHA State certification test $115
