Nurse Assistant I (160 Hours)  

This state required course is designed for those wishing to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A). This class consists of classroom work, lab, and clinical rotations. At the end of the course a separate state approved agency administers the competency testing for a fee of $120. Six days of clinical rotation will be scheduled starting as early as 6:30 a.m. Some weekend classes and lab participation may also be required by clinical sites. Background checks are mandatory for clinical sites. Random drug screening may be conducted by clinical sites.  

Training Includes:  

•         Dressing, bathing, and skin care 

•         Feeding, mouth, and hair care  

•         Incontinence care – Bowel & bladder care 

•         Taking vital signs  

•         Range of motion and ambulation assist 

•         Turning and repositioning of patients   

•         Safety awareness – observing, reporting, and correct documentation  

•         End of life and postmortem care  

•         Perform general patient care  


Admissions Requirements:  

•    Two forms of valid identification (driver’s license and social security card) at registration 

•    Provide documentation of complete immunization records including proof of MMR 1and 2 or 2  

individual titers, current TB test (must be active upon completion of the course), varicella infection by medical record, varicella titer, or varicella immunization if titer is negative, up to date Tetanus vaccine, proof of Hepatitis B vaccine or signed MCC waiver

•    Registration $180  

•    Liability Insurance $13 

•    Optional Accident Insurance $1.20 

•    Cost of CPR Card 

•    Book $27  (subject to change)   


Other Fees: 

•    State Exam $120
