Exploring Careers Series

Thinking about a career but not sure what is right for you? Join us for a series of classes exploring job opportunities within specific career fields. Each class will profile different jobs within a particular career field, such as healthcare. Students will learn about the employment outlook, skills needed, general duties, and pay scale for these jobs. Instructors are industry professionals with years of experience in their specific field. Attend one class or more in the series and learn about job opportunities available right here in the local area!

 

 

CLASS ONE: Exploring Careers in Healthcare (6 Hours)

This course is designed to allow students to explore the healthcare culture and employment opportunities within a specific field. It will provide students with basic information for obtaining a career as a Certified Nurse Assistant, Phlebotomist, or Medical Coder. Learn about the general duties, workplace environment, and employment outlook in each field. Students will also learn how to strengthen professional skills needed in the healthcare environment, such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.

CLASS TWO: Exploring Careers in Manufacturing (6 Hours)

Do you enjoy working with your hands, solving problems, and making really cool stuff? A career in manufacturing may be for you. Explore employment opportunities in manufacturing and learn about various jobs that are available and the skills needed to acquire these jobs. Manufacturing jobs offer excellent pay, steady employment, and the opportunity to work with the latest high-tech equipment. A variety of jobs within the manufacturing sector will be profiled.

CLASS THREE: Exploring Careers in Construction (6 Hours)

Construction is one of the oldest human activities and it has enabled us to adapt to a wide variety of environments. Good pay, a positive job outlook, and a flexible work environment are just a couple of the benefits of a career in construction. This class will focus on three careers within the construction field. General duties, workplace environment, and education requirements will be covered. Students will also learn about tools and equipment used and the professional skills needed to be successful.
