Summer Cover Cropping Systems (7.5 Hours)

Cover cropping is a major way for developing any soils…large scale to home gardening. We will look at various ways to plant and use cover crops throughout the summer. Interplanting them with other crops to build soil (buckwheat). Build soil fertility with peas, biomass for mulching and weed suppression with sunn hemp, composting material, mixing many crops to improve water retention amid much more. The first two classes meet at YLC, Saturday will be site visit, TBD.
