Plumbing is one of the fastest growing jobs in the country. This is a position that is and will always be needed. Mayland Community College desires to train students to enter this field with the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful.
Students who successfully complete the Plumbing curriculum will leave Mayland Community College with a national certification from the National Center for Construction Research and Education. This course is the first of four levels and will include training in a variety of topics. These topics include pipes and fitting, fixture, drain systems, water distribution, waste systems, vent systems and basic safety. This class will prepare you to complete entry level plumbing activities.
The employment outlook for plumbers is expected to grow by 16% according to the Bureau of Labor Statics. Plumbers will find work in residential and commercial industries. With additional training, self-employment is also a possibility.
