HVAC/R Level I (192.5 Hours)

HVAC Tech

Earn a national credential in the ever-evolving field of heating and air conditioning. This course will prepare students to meet the standards of the National Center for Construction Education. and Research (NCCER) curriculum and provide each student with the basic knowledge and necessary skills to become a quality entry-level employee in the HVAC industry. Students will also have the opportunity to sit for the NC State EPA certification exam upon completion of the course.

Training Includes:

• Safety
• Construction Math
• Intro to hand and power tools
• Intro to construction drawings
• Intro to HVAC
• Basic electricity
• Intro to air distribution systems
• Copper and plastic piping practices
• Soldering and brazing
• Carbon steel piping

Admission Requirements:

  • Provide proof of high school completion (high school transcripts, copy of high school diploma, or copy of completion of GED requirements) or completion of CASAS assessment with at least 8th grade
    reading and math skills

Cost of Class:

• Tuition/Registration: $180
• Text: $199 (subject to change)
• Optional accident insurance: $1.20

• Certification exam: $24
• State EPA exam: $40
