Earn the skills and credentials to administer EKGs, as well as Holter monitoring or stress testing with a certification through the National Healthcareer Association.
Training Includes:
- CPR Certification
- Anatomy and physiology of the heart
- Principles of EKG
- Dysrhythmia recognition
- Junctional/atrial rhythms
- Set up and administration of EKG’s (electrocardiograms) and stress tests
- Preparation of patients for Holter and ambulatory monitoring
- Delivery of final test results for physicians’ analysis
- Schedule appointments
- Transcribe physicians’ interpretations
Admission Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Provide proof of high school completion (high school transcripts, copy of high school diploma, or copy of completion of GED requirements)
- Demonstrate reading proficiency either by college transcripts, computerized placement test, or a CASAS reading test
