EKG Technician (104 Hours)

Earn the skills and credentials to administer EKGs, as well as Holter monitoring or stress testing with a certification through the National Healthcareer Association.

Cost of Class:

 

Admission Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Provide proof of high school completion (high school transcripts, copy of high school diploma, or copy of completion of GED requirements)
  • Demonstrate reading proficiency either by college transcripts, computerized placement test, or a CASAS reading test

 

Training Includes: 

  • CPR Certification
  • Anatomy and physiology of the heart
  • Principles of EKG
  • Dysrhythmia recognition
  • Junctional/atrial rhythms
  • Set up and administration of EKG’s (electrocardiograms) and stress tests
  • Preparation of patients for Holter and ambulatory monitoring
  • Delivery of final test results for physicians’ analysis
  • Schedule appointments
  • Transcribe physicians’ interpretations

Other Fees: 

  • NHA certification test $117 (subject to change)
