Cosmetology Career Training Program

Prepare for a successful career in the beauty industry with this comprehensive, non-degree cosmetology training program designed to meet the licensure requirements of the NC State Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners. Offered through Workforce Continuing Education, this program provides a minimum of 1,200 contact hours and emphasizes hands-on, practical experience in a salon-like setting.

Important Note:
COSMETOLOGY HAS A STRICT ATTENDANCE POLICY. Students must complete a minimum number of hours to be eligible to sit for the State Board Examination.

Cost of Class:

  • Tuition: $180
  • Kit, Supplies, and Textbooks: Approx. $1,850
  • Additional required items: Black uniforms, black shoes, and a nametag
  • Scholarships are available

Admission Requirements:

  • Must pass a CASAS reading test with at least a high school reading level

Training Include:

  • Scalp treatments
  • Roller sets, fingerwaves, pincurls, and blow-dry styling
  • Thermal pressing and artificial hair techniques
  • Haircuts, chemical reformation, coloring, and highlights
  • Manicures, pedicures, artificial nails
  • Facials and hair removal

Students will gain the foundational skills and experience needed to take the NC Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners certification exam.
