Get on the road to a new career! Our Truck Driver Training program teaches safe driving techniques, vehicle operation, and CDL regulations through classroom instruction and hands-on driving experience. Graduates are prepared to take the Commercial Driver’s License exam and start work with trucking companies—or even become independent owner-operators. This course involves extensive training, divided into three parts:

  • Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations Hours of service and map reading
  • Vehicle inspection
  • Whistleblower protection

• Range Driving
  •  Basic Vehicle control
  •  Coupling/Uncoupling
  •  Pre-trip inspection
  •  Proper backing techniques
  •  Proper use of clutch and gears

•  Road Driving
  • Defensive driving
  • Different roads and conditions
  • Loaded trailers
  • Observation of highway laws
  • Proper use of clutch and gears
  • Vehicle control

*At the conclusion of class, a third-party tester will administer the Class A CDL exam in Hudson, NC.

*Additional costs include DOT Physical, Pre-Employment DOT Drug Screen, MVR, Class A Permit, CDL License, and Endorsements. (These fees are not paid to the college).
