Central Sterile Processing Technician (96 Hours)

Central Sterile Processing Technicians (CSPDT) play a significant role in preventing infection by sterilizing equipment and supplies from operating and nursing units of the hospital or medical facility. In addition, these medical professionals will process, store, and distribute sterilized and cleaned medical supplies.

CSPDT professionals will find employment in hospitals, offices, and clinics of medical physicians to include outpatient care centers and ambulatory surgical centers, in addition to nursing and assisted living facilities.

Training Includes:

  • Decontaminate, clean, and sterilize surgical instrumentation, supplies, devices, and equipment.
  • Process, assemble, pack, store, and inventory medical devices and surgical supplies.
  • Distribute supplies and equipment as needed.

Admissions Requirements:

  • Provide proof of high school completion (high school transcripts, copy of high school diploma, or copy of completion of GED requirements) or completion of CASAS with 8th grade reading and math skills
