Finding Your Way in the Mountains: Primitive, Traditional, and New Tech (11 Hours) NEW!

Hikers on a mountain trail

People have always been explorers, whether searching for new hunting and foraging grounds, finding new lands across the oceans, or charting a course to the moon. Join NC High Peaks Trail Association co-founder Jake Blood in learning how to find your way in our mountains. The first class will look at how our ancient ancestors navigated their environment; the second class will look at the traditional map and compass that has been the hallmark of hikers and explorers for generations; and finally, the third class will look at new technologies and the ubiquitous wonders of GPS. Join us for one, two, or all three nights, whichever peaks your wanderlust!
