TRENDS:  

1.  NC Center for Nursing's Future Think Proposal is calling for elimination of the LPN and a diminished role for the Associate Degree Nurse.

2.  Acute nursing shortage locally, statewide and nationally.

3.  Decreased funding due to state budget crisis.

NEEDS OF STUDENTS: 

1.  Health care agency employers:  hospitals, physician's offices, clinics, long-term care facilities, health departments, industry and community agencies.

2.  Faculty, staff, and students of MCC who participate in planned clinic.

3.  Citizens of Mitchell, Avery, and Yancey counties.
