Coming to college is a major life step. For many of you, it may be a continuation of your high school years, while for others it may be a frightening experience into unknown territory. Either way, I assure you that you will find friends and advisors in all areas of the college who will help make Mayland your home! Our plan is for you to be successful!

Mayland is a Learning College. Being a Learning College means that we plan for you to learn the academic, technical, and personal skills that will prepare you for a successful career or for transfer to a four-year college. But it also means that you will learn from the social, academic, creative, and leadership opportunities available to you.

Whether you are a work-study student, an SGA officer, a member of an organization, or a busy student with a family, you will enjoy the collaboration with fellow students, instructors and staff. Take advantage of every experience and know that the satisfaction you receive will be the greatest reward of all - as you become a true lifelong learner.
