Important Information About Online Ordering

Here are some things you should know before using the new online ordering service of the MCC Bookstore:

The new online system allows you to place your orders for books, but to complete the transaction (and to receive your books), you will be contacted by someone from the Bookstore.

When you are contacted by the Bookstore (by telephone), you will be given shipping options for receiving your books, along with how payment can be made. We accept cash, money order, checks, credit cards (over the telephone only), financial aid and third-party payments (again over the telephone only).

Remember:

1. ONLINE BOOK PRICES ARE NOT GUARANTEED. Price fluctuations (both up and down) occur during book sales. While we make every effort to keep prices current on the Website, there may be changes that go into effect before we can update the online store. Therefore, please treat all prices as "estimates" and not final prices for the books.
   
   
2. AVAILABILITY OF USED BOOKS IS NOT GUARANTEED. While used books are available in the store, they are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. We will make every effort to honor your request for used books, but we reserve the right to substitute new textbooks if used ones are not available.

If you are a student who does not come to the MCC Main Campus, you can place your book order through our online store. Here is what you need to do.

1. Select Your Books
   Enter the store, search for the books you need, and choose whether you want a new or used version of each book. Then click the "Add To Cart" button to place the book into your shopping cart. You will see a running total of your order on the right-hand side of the screen.
   
   
2. Checkout
   When you are finished shopping for books, select "Checkout" or the shopping cart icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. You will be taken to the order completion area.
   
   IF YOU ARE A NEW SHOPPER: you will have to register with the site to complete your purchase. You will be asked for name, address, phone number and e-mail address, but you DO NOT have to enter any financial information into the store to use it. Please make sure that your telephone number is correct, as someone from the store will be giving you a call to complete your order.
   
   IF YOU ARE A RETURNING SHOPPER: you will enter the name and password you created when you set up your account to complete your purchase.
   
   Make sure when you enter the Checkout area that you put in times of day that you would like someone from the Bookstore to call you to complete your book transaction in the Comments field on the order form.
   
   
3. Completing The Sale
   After you submit your order, you will receive a confirmation from the store that it was submitted. Someone from the Bookstore will give you a call to complete details of your transaction, including shipping and payment options. NOTE: Third-party payment arrangements (NOT FINANCIAL AID) cannot be used for payment. The third-party agency will have to submit payment before books will be shipped.
   
   
4. When you complete your order, remember to log off the system by selecting Log Off in the upper right corner of the page.

Absolutely! You do not need to file an order online to check book prices. You can go in to the online store and search for your class texts, selecting what you want (new or used), then put them into your shopping cart. A total price for all of your books will be displayed on the right-hand side of the page under the Shopping Cart heading (see graphic at right).

You can also select the cart icon at the top of the screen, then print out the page that loads with all of your books on it and take that with you to the MCC Bookstore to use in selecting your books.

You do not have to register to buy in order to use the cart to check prices.

Remember, prices can and do change rapidly, and we cannot guarantee the prices in the online store are those currently in effect. You will receive final price information when you come to the store to purchase your books.
