How to Use Windows XP
A hands-on class designed for the novice Windows XP user. This 24-hour course will help the user understand the look and feel of Windows XP's desktop and menu system. Hands-on exercises will include: the desktop, menus, online help, my computer, windows explorer, Internet Explorer, and control panel. Also learn the fundamental concepts for creating and working with files, folders, and shortcuts as well as the basics of managing resources on the PC. Program content includes: professional communication skills, selection of venipuncture sites, care of blood specimens, record keeping and equipment maintenance. This state required course for those wishing to become a CNA consists of classroom work, lab, and clinical rotations. A separate, state approved, agency does the competency testing for a fee of $101. Seven days of clinical rotation (8 hours each) will be scheduled in addition to the dates listed below. Clinical schedules are based on the availability of clinical sites. Medication Aide
This course is designed to meet the training requirements to become a Medication Aide. Students must already be listed as a current Nurse Aide in North Carolina and hold a high school diploma or GED prior to taking the course. The course will cover the six rights of medication administration for non-licensed personnel. Topics will include: medication administration via the oral, topical, and instillation routes; medical asepsis, hand hygiene, terminology, and legal implications. Upon completion, students should be able to pass the competency exam and qualify for listing on the North Carolina Medication Aide Registry.

Local, Organic, Sustainable, and Humane - these attributes are in ever greater demand and growers who meet
these demands can find success. This class is designed to introduce students to the diversity of alternative crops that can be grown sustainably and have excellent potential for profitability. Pastured livestock, specialty vegetable, herb, flower, mushroom, winter vegetable, and organic bedding plant production are some of the subjects that will be covered. Learn to build an Appalachian Lap Dulcimer for profit or for your own enjoyment. No previous woodworking experience is required. Complete the process from shaping sides, to building peg boxes and fret boards, and tuning up your instrument.
