Clay Classes with Jan Welch
Throwing on the wheel, hand building, exciting surface designs, we do it all! Beginners welcome. Use mid-range stoneware, fire with a wide range of colorful custom made glazes. Students have a choice of two different classes with Instructor Jann Welch. Lab materials fee must be paid by all students and will be collected on the first day of class.

Raku Kiln Building & Firing
Participate in design and construction of raku kiln with renowned kiln builder Tracy Dotson. Jann Welch will be teaching traditional and contemporary raku pottery techniques and custom glase mixing. Students will receive one week production time in a professional studio.

MAT 080 Fast Track
This course is for students who need to test out of MAT 080 - Intermediate College Algebra in order to expedite their course work at Mayland. Pre-requisites are proof of an "A" in MAT 070 - Beginning College Algebra, or proof of a placement score between 45 and 49 on the Algebra portion of the placement test. Please note an additional fee may be required to re-take the placement test.

NC Handgun Concealed-Carry
Take your first step to a concealed-carry handgun permit. This class provides the training and certificate needed to apply for the permit at any Sheriff's Department in North Carolina. You must be at least 21 and a North Carolina resident. To attend class, ou cannot have been convicted of any felonies or misdemeanor violent crimes. Bring 100 rounds of ammunition, a handgun, and a holster to the firing range portion of class ONLY. Bring a bag lunch. Space is limited so pre-register early. Do not bring firearms into the building on the Mayland Campus.

Intro to Medical Terminology & Transcription
This course is designed to provide training in the skills required for medical transcription. Medical vocabulary and terms will be introduced as well as transcribing said terms into medical records. Upon completion of this course students should have a basic understanding of medical terminology and transcription.

Auto Dealership Certification
Completion of this 6 hour course will satisfy the requirements for applicant's seeking a renewl license. Each dealer must provide identification, including dealer license number, printed name and signature and photo ID, at time of registration. At the conclusion of the class, students will be given a certificate of completion. In addition, a copy of the dealer's signature and dealer license number will be sent to CIADA for their DMV database.

Continuing Education Credites for Licensed Plumbers! Get your continuing education credits early! This course has been approved by the North Carolina State Board of Examiners of Plumbing, Heating and Fire Sprinkler Contractors for continuing education credit in the amount of 6 hours, of which 1 & 1/2 hours will count towards the four hour block on state and local building codes. This course is not sponsored by the board. A current code book will be necessary.
