Mayland Community College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award certificates, diplomas, the Associate in Applied Science, Associate in Arts and Associate in Science Degrees. Additional accreditations include:

• The Associate Degree Nursing Program has been approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing,
• The Criminal Justice/BLET programs are accredited by the N.C. Criminal Justice Education and Training
Standards Commission,
• All degree and diploma programs and the General Educational Development (GED) courses are approved
by the Department of Veterans Affairs,
• The Medical Assistants Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health
Education Programs and the American Association of Medical Assistants Endowment,
• The Cosmetology Department is accredited by the North Carolina State Board of Cosmetology Arts
• The Phillips Gwaltney Child Development Center is a Five Star center approved by the state of North Carolina.
