Tissue Culture Lab

In cooperation with the award-winning EnergyXchange, the Horticulture Department now hosts a Micropropogation Laboratory. In the lab, research is being conducted in micropropogation, whereby plants are reproduced from very small cuttings under sterile laboratory conditions. This allows growers to produce large numbers of genetically identical plants from a superior mother plant.

Working with Project Branch Out, a division of EnergyXchange, the lab is focusing on propagating and preserving native ornamental plants.
