Basic Skills at the MCC Main Campus
The Basic Skills Program serves Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey Counties with GED, College Preparation, ESL, and Compensatory Education classes at the MCC Main Campus, located on US Highway 19-E near Spruce Pine at the Avery/Mitchell County line [map].
GED studies
An “open” class, allowing each student to set his or her own attendance schedule at any time during operation hours (for example, attending for an hour or two after work as the student’s schedule allows).
