The Associate in Science Program at Mayland Community College is designed to allow you to complete the first two years of a Bachelor’s Degree at Mayland and then move on to complete your degree at a 4-year college or university

Curriculum Description

The College Transfer Program is designed for the students who plan to transfer to four-year institutions to continue their formal education for Baccalaureate Degrees. The program of study includes a general education core of 44 semester hours credit distributed as follows:

  • English Composition (6)
  • Humanities/Fine Arts (12)
  • Social/Behavioral Sciences (12)
  • Natural Sciences/Mathematics (14)

Students who complete this core may be eligible to transfer to any of the state public four-year institutions and satisfy the general education requirements there. Students who complete the additional required hours (20-21) for the degree may be eligible to transfer and enter with junior class standing.

Students who are planning to transfer to a private college or out-of-state institution should consult with that institution for academic course selection guidance.

The students’ faculty advisors should be consulted for a listing of the courses that will satisfy the degree requirements for transfer purposes.
