Students in the Associate in Arts Pre-Major, Birth to Kindergarten program offers preparation for work at the baccalaureate level at a 4-year college or university.

PLEASE NOTE:
Based on agreement with Western Carolina University, eight additional credit hours will need to be completed prior to matriculation into the WCU Birth to Kindergarten program. A certificate in General Occupational Technology will be awarded for these additional hours. See Early Childhood Advisor for details.

Electives Groupings
Electives are grouped in the following manner
History Electives
(3 Semester Hours Credit)
Students must take at least one history course.
Select from:
Humanities/Fine Arts Electives
(9 Semester Hours Credit)
Select three courses from at least two of the following discipline areas: art, drama, dance, foreign languages, interdisciplinary humanities, music, philosophy, and religion.
Select from:
Literature Electives
(3 Semester Hours Credit)
Students must take at least one literature course.
Select from:
Mathematics Electives
(3 Semester Hours Credit)
Select from:
Natural Science Electives
(8 Semester Hours Credit)
Select two courses, including accompanying laboratory work, from among the biological and physical science disciplines.
Select From:
Social/Behaviorial Science Electives
(9 Semester Hours Credit)
Select three courses from at least two of the following discipline areas: anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, and sociology.
Select from:
Early Childhood Electives
(14 Semester Hours Credit)
Select fourteen (14) semester hours credit from core classes not selected above or any of the following:
